Continuing their commitment to educate and empower those affected by infertility, Shady Grove Fertility (SGF) will host 13 live, physician-hosted events this February, including 10 seminars and 3 virtual webinars. Topics include egg freezing, endometriosis, donor egg treatment, in vitro fertilization (IVF), and more. Each event concludes with a question and answer session, allowing individuals and couples the opportunity to get their questions answered by practice physicians.
“We believe a more informed patient is a more confident patient. Infertility can be a challenge for many to discuss freely, so our events provide a safe and supportive space where those experiencing infertility can begin addressing their concerns,” says Jason Bromer, M.D. of SGF’s Frederick and Hagerstown, MD, offices, who will host a “What to Expect When You’re Not Expecting” seminar on Tuesday, February 4, 2020.
“If you’re someone who is unsure if it’s time to see a fertility specialist, attending one or more of our live seminars and webinars is a great place to find answers to questions you might have regarding your own fertility, and also what you can expect from consultation through treatment,” Bromer adds.
To assist individuals who are unable to attend a live seminar, SGF’s monthly virtual webinars provide another opportunity for learning, many times focusing on specific topics, like how a woman’s menstrual cycle relates to their fertility.
“Irregular, heavy, painful, or nonexistent periods can be indicators of a woman’s fertility potential and her ability to conceive,” says Brad Swelstad, M.D. of SGF’s Fair Oaks and Woodbridge, VA, offices. “While many women are unaware that their age and length of time having unprotected intercourse provide guidelines as to when a woman should see a fertility specialist, these menstrual cycle factors can be early warning signs that a woman who wants to conceive should see a specialist sooner.” Dr. Swelstad will host a “What Your Menstrual Cycle Says about Your Fertility” webinar on Wednesday, February 12.
