In a continuing effort to educate the community and spread awareness about the effectiveness of infertility treatments, physician experts from Shady Grove Fertility will host in-person events and online webinars as part of its ongoing education series.

Ten Shady Grove Fertility babies are born every day, each day. As the largest fertility center in the nation, it’s the practices’ mission to not only help families achieve their dream of parenthood, but to also educate the community through its events about the importance of early fertility intervention. The events are intended to provide reliable, accurate, and up-to-date information about infertility so attendees can make informed decisions about taking that next step of scheduling a fertility consultation to learn more about treatment options. To make each event as informative as possible, all events—either virtual or in-person—conclude with a question and answer session with a physician expert allowing attendees to get their personal questions answered.

“What to Expect When You’re Not Expecting” is an event offered both in-person and online that addresses how to know when it’s time to see a fertility specialist and what to expect when meeting with a fertility specialist at Shady Grove Fertility. The physician host will take attendees through each of the different touchpoints of their journey from diagnosing infertilitytreatment of infertility, the exclusive financial options offered at Shady Grove Fertility, success rates, and more.

“Our events are designed to help alleviate the anxiety that many of our patients feel about meeting with a fertility specialist. We provide attendees with information, resources, and tools so they can feel confident in making the decision to seek the care they need,” says Rachana Garde, M.D., of Shady Grove Fertility’s Woodbridge, VA and Annandale, VA offices. Dr. Garde will be hosting the “What to Expect When You’re Not Expecting” Event at the Shady Grove Fertility office in Woodbridge, VA on July 25, 2017 at 7:00 p.m.

“The only fertility treatment option is IVF” is one of the most common myths Shady Grove Fertility hears from patients about their hesitation to seek care from a fertility specialist. The truth is, 50 percent of all treatment cycles performed at Shady Grove Fertility are considered more basic than IVF, called “low-tech.” Depending on the age and diagnosis of a patient, a simple procedure, such as intrauterine insemination (IUI), is often the first treatment approach.

“Shady Grove Fertility takes a stepped-care approach to treatment starting with the most basic, more affordable treatment options first. Our goal is to make sure our patients achieve the best possible chances of success using the simplest and most cost effective approach,” says Melissa Esposito, M.D., of Shady Grove Fertility’s Harrisburg, PA and Frederick, MD offices. Dr. Esposito will be hosting the Fertility Myths webinar on July 19, 2017 at noon, where she will set the record straight on the facts of infertility.

While all SGF in-person and online events are complimentary, interested parties must register to attend by visiting the Shady Grove Fertility calendar of events.
