Atlanta, GA – SGF Atlanta, now with 4 locations in the Greater Atlanta area, and named 2018 Best Reproductive Endocrinology Practice, announced today the newest team member joining Natalie Stentz, M.D., M.S.C.E., in the Buckhead-Piedmont location, reproductive endocrinologist, Pavna K. Brahma, M.D.

Dr. Brahma earned her medical degree and completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Michigan before she went on to complete a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Emory University. During fellowship, her research in reproductive immunology was awarded a Prize Paper award at the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) national meeting. Her fellowship thesis on the regulation of inflammation in adipose tissue was awarded the Basic Science Research award by Emory’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Brahma has extensive experience in assisted reproductive technologies and advanced reproductive procedures. She has also received numerous awards for patient care. Dr. Brahma has produced several publications and given many research presentations in the fields of endocrinology, infertility, and reproductive immunology. She is a fellow of the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM). She is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.

“I am honored to be a part of the SGF team and work alongside such admired and respected physicians,” said Dr. Brahma. “I believe we’re able to offer patients every advantage on their journey to parenthood,” adds Brahma, who also sees patients in SGF’s Atlanta-Northside location.

“Dr. Brahma is a wonderful doctor, she explains processes in great detail and will listen to all my concerns and answer all my questions. Never have I felt rushed when meeting with her. She takes all the time that I need to make sure I’m comfortable with the information she’s provided,” shared a Brahma patient.

“My approach is to really listen to the details, empathize with the struggle, and help redirect our efforts towards our next step. I can relate personally to the struggle of infertility. One of the toughest parts of the fertility journey is losing control over something that matters so much in someone’s life. Optimism and strength to move forward often comes from addressing questions and fears. My goal is to empower patients with pertinent information to help make medical decisions together. I often tell patients to put some of their stress on my shoulders, and we will make the journey together,” adds Brahma.

Along with Dr. Stentz, Dr. Brahma will provide a comprehensive range of fertility services and financial programs, including fertility and ovarian reserve testing and diagnosis, semen analysis, hysterosalpingogram (HSG), low-tech treatments such as ovulation induction and intrauterine insemination (IUI), in vitro fertilization (IVF), donor egg/sperm or embryo treatment, genetic screening and testing, IVF for inherited genetic disease prevention, gestational carrier treatment, egg freezing, fertility preservation for patients with cancer, and LGBTQ family building.

Dr. Stentz, who also sees patients in SGF’s Atlanta-Northside and Marietta, GA, locations, earned her medical degree and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Michigan before she went on to complete a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility the University of Pennsylvania where she also earned her Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology. Dr. Stentz has made important contributions to the field of reproductive endocrinology in her research on the associations between infertility, stress, inflammation, and lifelong health.

Board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and board eligible in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, Dr. Stentz has earned numerous honors, including research awards from the American Medical Association and the ASRM, and clinical distinctions such as the Making a Difference Clinical Award—a distinction awarded by patients to employees of the University of Michigan Health System for making a difference in their care.

“There is no fertility practice in the country that tries as hard as SGF to provide the best care to their patients. I am proud to work with SGF to provide cutting-edge, evidence-based care to our patients,” says Dr. Stentz.

“Regarding my approach, I pick up right where each of my patients are when they come to see me. Some have had long journeys even before they meet me, others are just getting started. I want to learn not only about my patients’ medical history but, more importantly, about who the person/couple that I am working along with. We take steps together to design a treatment plan that feels approachable and work as a team while enacting the steps of that plan. Along with my team, we work to maintain open paths of communication to answer the questions and concerns that arise. I am there to hold a hand through the tough parts and share in the joy of my patients’ successes,” adds Stentz.

“Dr. Stentz is approachable, which was important to me. She didn’t laugh at my questions and she never made me feel like my questions and concerns were irrelevant. She told me what to expect and has communicated changes in the plan effectively and in a timely manner,” shared a Stentz patient.
