Presented at the 79th ASRM Scientific Congress & Expo, Shady Grove Fertility Fellow Dr. Elizabeth Clain is recognized for her excellence in research by receiving the 2023 F&S Reviews Prize.

Denver, CO [October 20, 2023] – Shady Grove Fertility (SGF) is proud to announce Elizabeth Clain, M.D., an SGF Fellow at the University of Colorado, has been awarded the 2023 F&S Reviews Prize for her research and publication on endometrial testing. The award was presented at the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) Scientific Congress & Expo in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Clain will join SGF Colorado’s team of physicians upon completion of her fellowship.

“I’m honored to receive recognition for my research from ASRM,” shares Dr. Clain. “At the heart of our research, we aim to give back to our patients and improve their quality of care as they go through fertility treatment. This research can make a true impact on our patients, and all patients with infertility, by providing evidence-based recommendations for avoiding costly and time-consuming tests.”

The award recognizes an exceptional paper published in F&S Reviews in the previous year on which the first author is a trainee.

The publication, “Endometrial Receptivity, To Test or Not to Test: The Evidence on Contemporary Assays,” written alongside Kate Devine, M.D., Medical Director and Chief Research Officer at US Fertility, explores endometrial tests developed to diagnose and mitigate cases of implantation failure in in vitro fertilization (IVF). The research concludes that available data does not support any routine endometrial testing in either patients with recurrent implantation failure or the general infertility population and calls for further studies to evaluate what population may benefit from endometrial testing.

“SGF and US Fertility are proud to be training the next generation of physician-scientists in reproductive medicine,” shares Dr. Devine. “Shady Grove Fertility participates in the highest level of training and teaching through four jointly managed fellowship programs, including a fellowship with the University of Colorado’s Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI).”
