In celebration of National Infertility Awareness Week (April 22-28), our successful past patients wanted to share their words of wisdom with you. We’ll be posting messages here each day throughout the week.
Dr. Bromer Joins the Frederick Team
This week marks the beginning to a new chapter at Shady Grove Fertility’s Frederick, Maryland office. Jason G. Bromer, MD joins Melissa A. Esposito, MD in seeing new patients as well as meeting with current patients as they come in for morning monitoring.

Dr. Bromer is a board certified reproductive endocrinologist, who joins us from the Reproductive Science Center of New Jersey. Dr. Bromer received his medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine, graduating with distinction, and then moved on to Georgetown University to complete his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and finally on to Yale University to his fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
Dr. Bromer always knew he would become a doctor, growing up he volunteered with sick children and always had a desire to help those in need, saying “It never occurred to me that I would do anything else.” He has been inspired to keep the highest standards of being a physician from his mentors in his residency and fellowship training, “I strive to be the kind of doctors that they are.”
Part of keeping to these standards is staying at the cutting-edge of research. Dr. Bromer has a particular interest in fertility preservation for patients with cancer, pregnancy implantation, and researching methods of embryo selection for in vitro fertilization. His work has been presented in meetings across the globe, and published in over 40 research papers and book chapters.
Between being the newest addition to the Shady Grove Fertility family, and being a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, the Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, and the International Society for Fertility Preservation, he is also a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a Diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
When Dr. Bromer is just Jason
Somewhere in all his free time, he manages to enjoy a few recreational activities such as snowboarding with his wife, going for walks with his young son, reading, watching movies, and playing with all the new Apple gadgets.
When asked what would surprise people the most about you? Dr. Jason Bromer had this to say, “I am probably the shortest person to ever make the all-state high school soccer team as a goalkeeper!”

Are you overweight and trying to get pregnant?
Pulling Down the Moon, a Shady Grove Fertility partner-in-care, is looking for participants to help with a program pilot to start May 1st.
Pulling Down the Moon is seeking 3 women in or around Chicago, IL and 3 women in or around the Rockville, MD area to pilot a new program designed to help with weight loss with a special focus on fertility. Participants in the pilot will access the program for FREE. Pulling Down the Moon’s program goes beyond “watching weight” and targets the specific ways excess weight negatively impacts fertility including inflammation, reduced insulin sensitivity and the hormonal impact of excess body fat.
Included in this 8-week program:
- A one-on-one initial consultation with a Registered Dietitian
- Seven group follow-up sessions
- Fertility-specific nutrition supplements
- Weekly NIR body composition measurements
Requirements:
- Participants must be able to travel to Rockville or Chicago for initial consult and weekly follow-ups (offered on Thursday evenings in Chicago and Sundays in Rockville)
- Participants must be willing to share your experiences and “before and after” photos through social and outside media.
- Must have a BMI of 30 or above to be eligible for pilot program.
Applicants should respond to beth@pullingdownthemoon.com with subject line “FLTF.” Pilot spots will be filled on a first-come basis. Program enrollment available for a fee thereafter. Program cost is $210 for initial consult, seven group follow-ups and NIR measurement. Nutritional supplements are optional and not included in the program price.

Shady Grove Fertility is proud to open the doors to our 14th full-service office on the Sibley Hospital Campus in Washington, DC. This office opens in response to the overwhelming popularity of our first DC office on K Street as well as the surrounding suburban areas in Montgomery County in Maryland and Fairfax County in Virginia.
This modern-designed office features a loft-like feel but with warm and friendly touches. Conveniently located in NW DC on the campus of Sibley Hospital, it offers plenty of free parking, and our staff includes 3 reproductive endocrinologists, nurses, medical assistants, a sonographer, financial counselor and our patient representative team.
It is SGF’s goal to offer our patients the highest quality of care and to make the fertility journey as smooth as possible. If convenient, we welcome all patients to monitor at our new Washington, DC – Sibley Hospital location no matter which office is their primary location.
