Washington, D.C. – In honor of Pride Month, a month dedicated to recognizing the LGBTQ community, Shady Grove Fertility (SGF) is hosting various events to spread awareness about the multiple family building options available for the LGBTQ community. SGF is dedicated to helping gay, lesbian, and transgender people and couples realize their dream of parenthood.

SGF has been a leader in donor—also called third-party—reproduction, for nearly 30 years and is a proud sponsor of the Capital Pride Festival in the nation’s capital on Sunday, June 9, 2019. This event celebrates the diversity of the community and educates, supports, and inspires others to help create full equality for LGBTQ individuals and their families. Pride Festival attendees are encouraged to stop by the SGF booth, for information and to meet practice physicians and members of the team.

Dr. Kate Devine, SGF’s Director of Research, will host an LGBTQ Family Building seminar on Monday, June 17, 2019 at SGF’s Washington, D.C. K Street location. Attendees will receive a voucher for a complimentary consultation with Dr. Devine. Interested parties must register to attend.

“As a practice we are dedicated to helping members of the LGBTQ community achieve their goals of building a family. We feel privileged to have the opportunity to educate couples about their family building options, and to help them begin their path to parenthood,” says Dr. Devine. “We’re able to offer a full range of services, from low tech to highly advanced, and to apply the latest in assisted reproductive technology (ART) to help individuals and couples achieve successful outcomes. Many of our treatment options for same-sex and transgender couples enable both partners to participate actively in the family building process,” adds Devine.

SGF will host a free virtual webinar about LGBTQ family building options that will include information about fertility testing, treatment options such as intrauterine insemination (IUI), in vitro fertilization (IVF), donor egg treatment, gestational carriers, reciprocal/co-IVF, intended father treatment, transgender options, reproductive legal considerations, psychological support services, and much more. The event will take place on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at 12 pm and will be hosted by board certified reproductive endocrinologist Dr. Ryan Martin, who sees patients in SGF’s Warrington, PA location. Following the presentation, Dr. Martin will host a live, anonymous question and answer session. Interested parties must register to attend.

As a premier fertility center in the nation, SGF has created a comprehensive program for LGBTQ family building and is home to the largest donor egg program in the United States. “Through continuous innovation and new developments in assisted reproductive technology (ART), we can offer the LGBTQ community a full range of fertility treatment options, giving them every advantage in building their family. SGF programs include options for every type of partnership in a nurturing and supportive environment,” says Dr. Martin.
