Washington, D.C. — Throughout April, physicians from Shady Grove Fertility will host a variety of free education events for information seekers with topics ranging from infertility basics and knowing when to see a fertility specialist to menstrual cycle warning signs, in vitro fertilization (IVF), and more. The information sessions offer participants the opportunity to ask questions directly of the physician expert in person during the seminars on anonymously online during the webinars.
“It can be challenging to sift through the mountains of information available about infertility and decipher fact from fiction. It can also be quite intimidating for couples who are having difficulty conceiving to know where to turn for answers. Our hope is that these events provide a firm foundation of knowledge that help motivate those in need to take action. Often times, taking that first step is the hardest, but what we often hear patients say is that ‘my only regret is that I waited too long to seek help,’ says Dr. Shayne Plosker, who sees patients in SGF’s brand new Brandon, FLlocation.
The seminar ‘What to Expect When You’re Not Expecting’ is designed to answer questions, reduce anxiety, and arm couples with the information and confidence they need. Whether a couple is just suspecting infertility or further along with an already established diagnosis, SGF physicians will provide insight on how reproductive endocrinologists define infertility, common causes of infertility in men and women, four simple tests that help to establish a diagnosis, treatment options, success rates, financial and insurance options, and much more.
