My husband and I got married in August 2020 and we enjoyed the first few years of marriage, just the two of us. Then, we decided we were ready to try and grow our family. However, after a year of trying and not having any success getting pregnant, we found Shady Grove Fertility through friends who had success just the year before.
Hope from the beginning
We were provided hope right from the very beginning through Dr. B and the nurses who showed genuine care and support in helping our dream of starting a family come to fruition. The testing definitely took longer than expected but my husband and I are so thankful for their attention to detail and taking the time to rule out everything before beginning treatment. In August 2024, we did our first round of intrauterine insemination (IUI) which was not successful. However, the next month we did another round of IUI and on September 27 we found out this round was successful. There were many highs and lows during this process but through it all with the support of my husband and everyone at SGF we were able to stay hopeful and trust in God’s timing.
Keep your head up
Infertility can feel lonely and a never-ending journey at times, but it makes a world of a difference to find a place that truly cares about you and is with you through the tears both sad and happy. That’s what SGF was for us! We would tell future patients to truly lean on anyone in your support circle, ask all the questions (you can’t ask too many), keep your head up, and trust in God’s timing. I’m not saying any of that is easy, but it is what got us through.
