Hyo Lee, Ph.D., HCLD, is a High-complexity Clinical Laboratory Director certified by the American Board of Bioanalysis (ABB). Dr. Lee joined Shady Grove Fertility in 2015 and currently serves as the Lab Director for SGF Colorado (Denver & Colorado Springs), SGF Houston, SGF Tampa Bay, and SGF Orlando.
With a background in bioengineering, Dr. Lee earned her master’s and doctoral degrees at Johns Hopkins University through multidisciplinary research in oocyte mechanics, biophysics, and reproductive biology. Her doctoral work focused on the cytoskeletal regulation of cortical mechanics during mammalian egg maturation and fertilization, providing insights into cellular processes with potential implications for reproductive success. Her passion for combining engineering and reproductive biology naturally led her to a career in embryology and IVF, where she brings her expertise to helping patients build their families.
Outside the laboratory, Dr. Lee enjoys making (and eating) layered cakes, dabbling in piano, hiking in the mountains, and has recently become obsessed with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
