Washington, D.C.- Through Shady Grove Fertility’s educational series, physician experts will host a variety of events with topics ranging from menstrual cycle warning signs and endometriosis to how to get started, in vitro fertilization (IVF), and more. The information sessions are casual and offer participants the opportunity to ask questions directly of the physician expert.
“Couples who are having difficulty conceiving often have many questions and aren’t sure when the right time is to see a fertility specialist. SGF’s webinar ‘What to Expect When You’re Not Expecting’ is designed to answer questions, reduce anxiety, and arm couples with the information and confidence they need to take that first step,” says Dr. Monica Best of Shady Grove Fertility Atlanta who sees patients in Atlanta-Northside or Buckhead-Piedmont and who will be hosting the free event on March 13. Whether a person is just suspecting infertility or further along with an already established diagnosis, Dr. Best will provide insight on how reproductive endocrinologists define infertility, common causes, four simple tests that help to determine the underlying reason behind the inability to conceive, treatment options, success rates, financial and insurance options, and much more.
“Establishing an early diagnosis leads to better outcomes, which is why we encourage couples to come in. I hear my patients say over and over, I wish I hadn’t waited so long to seek help,” remarks Dr. Best. “We help patients make informed decisions and can provide much needed guidance to help them achieve their dreams of parenthood. You don’t have to do this alone,” reminds Dr. Best.
March is Endometriosis Awareness Month. Endometriosis is a common condition that can impact a woman’s ability to conceive and affects an estimated one in 10 women of reproductive age. The good news is, a personalized infertility treatment plan will improve chances of conception if endometriosis is present. To help spread the word about endometriosis, a condition that is often characterized as confusing and enigmatic, SGF is hosting a webinar about endometriosis for women who are trying to conceive on March 19 with Dr. Naveed Khan of SGF’s Leesburg, VA office. “Just because a woman has endometriosis does not mean that she has infertility and will be unable to conceive – quite the contrary. However, women with endometriosis pose a higher risk for infertility and it can progress over time, which is why it’s important to seek help early,” adds Dr. Khan. “For women with diagnosed or suspected endometriosis who are trying to conceive, particularly women who have advanced endometriosis, a fertility evaluation is recommended sooner rather than later,” adds Khan.
While all SGF in-person and online events are complimentary, interested parties must register to attend by visiting the Shady Grove Fertility calendar of events.
