Throughout the month of July, the practice will host six in-person seminars and three virtual webinars on topics ranging from what to expect when you’re not expecting, getting started with treatment, what your menstrual cycle says about your fertility, IVF, and more. Each event concludes with a question and answer session so that attendees have the opportunity to get their questions answered by the practice’s physician experts.
For couples who aren’t sure if they have infertility and whether they should see a fertility specialist, the event “What to Expect When You’re Not Expecting” will address those questions. During the seminar, attendees will learn how infertility is defined, common causes of infertility, what to expect at the initial appointment with a physician, fertility tests to determine a diagnosis, treatment options, and financial options for affording fertility care.

SGF’s webinar ‘What to Expect When You’re Not Expecting’ is designed to answer questions, reduce anxiety, and arm couples with the information and confidence they need to take that first step,” says Dr. Monica Best of Shady Grove Fertility Atlanta who sees patients in Atlanta-Northside or Buckhead-Piedmont and who will be hosting the free event on July 10. Whether a person is just suspecting infertility or further along with an already established diagnosis, Dr. Best will provide insight on how reproductive endocrinologists define infertility, common causes, four simple tests that help to determine the underlying reason behind the inability to conceive, treatment options, success rates, financial and insurance options, and much more.

When people think of fertility treatment, they immediately assume in vitro fertilization (IVF). While IVF is often not the first line of treatment for patients, many patients do move forward with IVF in their fertility journey as it is among the most effective fertility treatment options due to advances in laboratory and treatment protocols.
“The more our patients understand the IVF process, the less intimidating this treatment option becomes. The biggest takeaway with IVF is that we continue to see improved pregnancy and delivery rates and a decrease in multiple pregnancies.
