According to the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART)’s most recently (2014) published national data, Shady Grove Fertility remains a national leader for number of babies born from IVF treatment using fresh embryos.

For women in the younger than 35 age group, Shady Grove Fertility’s fresh IVF program resulted in 589 live births in 2014, with the average per U.S. fertility center (n=375) in this same age group being 47. For women in the 35 to 37 age group, Shady Grove Fertility’s same program resulted in 296 live births, compared with 20, the national average. For women in the 38 to 40 age group, 213 live births at Shady Grove Fertility trumped the national average of 12 by 17.5 percent. And for women in the 41 to 42 age group, Shady Grove Fertility’s program resulted in 73 live births, compared with the national average of 4. Not only does this speak to the volume of cycles Shady Grove Fertility’s 35 physicians perform on an annual basis compared with other centers but it also highlights the impact age has on fertility, which experiences a sharp decline beginning in a woman’s mid-30s.

SART, whose mission it is to establish and maintain quality standards for assisted reproductive technology (ART), includes more than 90 percent of ART centers in the U.S. and requires uniform annual IVF birth outcome reporting in order that patients can make more informed decisions about their infertility care. For their 2014 National Data Summary, SART culled data from 375 SART-affiliated fertility centers across the U.S.

“Shady Grove Fertility is able to achieve high birth outcomes and remain the largest fertility center in the nation because we combine our commitment to quality with programs that make fertility care affordable and accessible to more people. We understand that, for many, it’s a make or break decision, and that’s why it’s been a priority for us from the very beginning to help ease the cost of treatment,” remarks Michael J. Levy, M.D. Co-founder of Shady Grove Fertility and Director of IVF.

In addition to myriad exclusive guarantee, discount, and financial assistance programs, Shady Grove Fertility participates with more than 30 in-network insurance providers – more than 90 percent of their insured patients having coverage for their initial physician consult and more than 70 percent having at least some level of coverage for treatment.

Shady Grove Fertility’s flagship IVF refund program financially ensures patients with a very simple guarantee—take home a baby or receive 100% refund. In the unlikely event that a couple is not successful, their financial resources have been preserved so that they are able to explore other family building options. Since the program’s inception, more than 13,000 couples have relied on this guarantee to grow their families. Today, approximately 82 percent of program participants will go on to take home a baby.

While 2016 marks an important milestone for Shady Grove Fertility—with 25 years and more than 40,000 babies—rather than maintain the status quo, the practice’s dedicated research team alongside their 35 physicians and hundreds of highly trained staff work consistently and diligently to continually advance available technologies to provide patients with the greatest chances of conception.

“While we’re proud of our continued clinical success rates and accomplishments, what’s most noteworthy to us is having helped our patients conceive 3,000 beautiful babies in 2014 alone,” adds Widra. “It’s remarkable, even to us, that each and every day 10 Shady Grove Fertility babies are born, with five babies born a day just from our fresh IVF Program,” adds Widra.

With 2014 being another record-breaking year for Shady Grove Fertility’s IVF Program, with 5,000 fresh IVF cycles—more than any other year in the practice’s history, “Our hope is that couples who are considering treatment understand that when their dreams are on the line, experience matters,” adds Levy.
