Shady Grove Fertility (SGF) in Solana Beach is our first California location, serving patients across San Diego County, including North County coastal communities. Our board-certified Reproductive Endocrinologists offer IVF, IUI, egg freezing, fertility testing and more, with consultations available in person.

We welcome individuals and couples, including LGBTQIA+ patients and single parents by choice, who are building their families in San Diego County. Our IVF and embryology lab is on site in Solana Beach, which means all advanced procedures (IVF, egg retrievals, embryo transfers, HSGs, and fertility preservation) can be performed on site.

IVF insurance coverage in California: what SB 729 means for you

Starting in January 2026, California Senate Bill 729 (SB 729) requires many insurance plans to cover fertility treatments—including IVF. It’s a huge step forward for reproductive access across the state.

California’s expanded insurance coverage requires most small and large-group health plans to cover:

– Fertility testing and diagnosis
– Infertility treatment, including IVF
– Up to 3 completed egg retrievals
– Unlimited embryo transfers, based on clinical guidelines

The law also takes an inclusive approach to defining infertility, ensuring that LGBTQIA+ individuals, single parents, and others have fair access to fertility care.

Approximately 70 percent of our patients have some coverage for infertility treatment and 90 percent have coverage for their initial consultation. Below is a list of insurance networks accepted by Shady Grove Fertility. Please note that each state accepts different insurances.

SGF’s accepted fertility benefits

SGF is proud to make fertility treatment more affordable by accepting exclusive fertility benefits provided by employers/companies as well as third-party administrators. SGF patients who choose to use their benefits from the below list of providers will enjoy negotiated preferred service rates and a streamlined claims process.

Some fertility benefit administrators may require employees to enroll directly with their organization in order to be eligible for fertility treatment benefits.
