Q & A
Q: Why did you become a doctor/reproductive endocrinologist?
A: I wanted to be a doctor since I was in second grade. What type of doctor I wanted to be changed several times during my journey to become a physician. Ultimately I decided to be a reproductive endocrinologist because I can be primarily an educator. I explain the causes of infertility, along with work-up and treatment, to the patients and then work with them to come up with the treatment that is best for them. It is unbelievably rewarding to help patients who are so dedicated and motivated to accomplish such a wonderful goal of being parents.
Q: What are your hobbies and why do you enjoy them?
A: I enjoy swimming, and have been on a masters swim team for more than 10 years. I also enjoy golf but don’t think I will excel in it until my work schedule is much lighter. I love to have my social life revolve around sports and activities and have wonderful friends as a result of these.
Q: Describe a time you were inspired by a patient.
A: I am inspired by my patients every day. Even the courage it takes to come in for an initial consult is incredible. The really inspiring times happen after something not so good happens, such as a cycle failure or, worse, a miscarriage or later loss. The strength of patients to stick with it and try again inspires me to work my hardest every day to help these people have a family.
Q: What about SGF makes you the most proud?
A: Our attention to great patient care and great success.

“Dr. Browne is compassionate and competent. She helped us bring a healthy son into the world! I 100% recommend and trust her expertise.”
“Dr. Browne has been extremely understanding and supportive through our fertility journey. I am currently pregnant with my second baby and she has been so patient and a wealth of knowledge through out the whole process. Both of my pregnancies have been monitored through her and I wouldn’t have it any other way. ‘Graduating’ from Shady Grove Fertility is always bitter sweet because of the family culture that Dr. Browne and her team cultivate.”
“I would encourage anyone who needs help getting pregnant to see Dr. Browne. From the very first time I met her she was compassionate but straightforward and most importantly, listened to me. When I got that first sonogram and saw our baby’s heartbeat for the first time she was genuinely excited for us. Shady Grove Fertility in general impressed me because every nurse, receptionist, technician that I came into contact with was knowledgeable and kind.”
“I can’t say enough great things about Dr. Browne and her staff. They helped me to conceive not once but twice and I am so thankful. Everyone in the office is extremely caring and knowledgeable and you can tell they know exactly how to help you get to your goal of having a baby. I wasn’t pressured for more invasive/costly treatments and was able to move forward when I felt comfortable. I would recommend Shady Grove Fertility and Dr. Browne to anyone who is seeking fertility treatments.”
“My husband and I will never be able to express just how thankful we are to have been patients of Dr. Browne. She and the entire team at the Fair Oaks office made the overwhelming process of fertility treatment easier and more comfortable than I ever expected it could be. Dr. Browne was not only a wonderful doctor, she was an amazing support for my husband and I as we went through the process, which at times was heartbreaking. She never gave up on us, and she always encouraged us to remain positive. I always felt like I was getting the answers I needed, even though sometimes they weren’t the answers I wanted. Dr. Browne is a straight shooter and I will always appreciate her honest approach to patient care. She is compassionate, empathetic and human, and I knew she was dedicated to helping us… not for numbers or statistics, but for us, because she truly, genuinely wanted to help. I trusted her every step of the way and have recommended her to others. The nursing staff was also awesome! If I couldn’t get in touch with my nurse there was always someone else who was happy to talk to me and answer all of my questions. They were kind, understanding and patient.”
“My husband and I were patients of Dr. Browne. She was extremely patient with us while we were going through a very painful and emotionally draining process. She clearly explained the pros and cons of various choices that were given to us and was receptive and understanding of the choices with regards to the treatment choices that we made. The supporting staff including the nurses and other physicians at SGF were extremely helpful and responded to our queries in a prompt manner.”
“After actively trying for over three years my husband and I sought assistance through Shady Grove Fertility in the Fair Oaks office and were assigned to Dr. Browne. The entire Shady Grove Fertility team at Fair Oaks, Fairfax, and Rockville are outstanding. I never left an appointment without feeling completely informed and satisfied with next steps and what all procedures entail. Dr. Browne was especially easy to talk to and very informative. She is a doctor that truly cares about her patients and does everything she can to help them conceive. Thanks to her we are now expecting! Every question I had, no matter when I had it, I was able to get an answer within 24 hrs. Being well informed, feeling like my doctor actually cared, and the friendliness and ease of working with the support staff made this last year of working with Shady Grove Fertility a pleasant experience, no matter how awkward and uncomfortable you are physically.”
“I would highly recommend seeing her for your infertility treatment. The staff is absolutely wonderful and supportive. Dr. Browne is matter of fact, professional, knowledgeable and empathetic. We became pregnant on our first try at treatment despite a low probability.”
“I don’t know if I have said it before or if I have said it enough, but today we just want to say “Thank you” to you and all the team that works with us at Shady Grove Fertility. This process can be so long and dark, but through the grace and hope you share with us, we have been able to find reasons to have joy and to be thankful for the journey no matter the outcome. Thank you and may God bless you all. Please share my gratitude with everyone.”
“Very personable, down to earth and caring. Felt at ease right away at our first appointment. Would recommended her to friends and family trying for a little one!!”
