International Donor Egg

Shady Grove Fertility Centers has a very active international egg donation program that provides ease of access to affordable donated eggs which are widely unavailable in the UK, Ireland or Canada. The treatment process for international patients has been streamlined so few trips to the US are required. Given the logistics and need to be precise with communciations, the entire experience is facilitated and coordinated by our International Donor Team, a subgroup within the Egg Donor department. Many European couples are now enjoying pregnancy and parenthood as a result of this program.

The International Egg Donation Program at Shady Grove Fertility Center was developed in response to increased interest in our practice from infertility patients from the United Kingdom who were requiring donor egg. The program is designed to help patients overcome some of the barriers of seeking donor egg treatment in the UK, with the goal of being able to offer affordable treatment with minimal travel requirements, yet maximum success rates.   • Shared Risk – flat fee paid for up to six cycles of treatment. The fee is only earned when a baby is delivered.

This option may also be combined with a Shared Risk financial program, which then reduces cost significantly and guarantees a refund if a baby is not delivered.

Typical Process for International Patients

• Program Overview phone call with SGFC Donor Recipient Patient Liaison. The Liaison stays with you through the process and is your primary point of contact for logistical questions or concerns.
• Telephone consultation with a SGFC physician
• 2 day visit to SGFC inclusive of visit with SGFC physician, mock trial cycle, psychological support consultation, sperm freeze, and introduction to nursing team who are the point of contact for clinical questions or concerns.
• This begins a two to three month process whereby care is coordinated with your local clinic and your portion of the treatment is administered locally while the donor is prepared for donation at SGFC.
• Return visit to SGFC is necessary only for embryo transfer. This visit typically lasts 5-6 days.

Three major airports, train service and metro rail, makes it convenient to travel to the Washington area. Our city and suburbs offer a wide range of accommodations to meet your lodging needs; many are located only a short driving distance from our Center in Rockville, Maryland. These include hotels, motels, and even suites with cooking facilities. The Washington, DC area is well known for its museums, fine restaurants, and other cultural activities…so you will be able to find lots to do while you are visiting with us for treatment.
