Don & Tiffany

I wanted to share our story that brought our baby boy into this world. I must give God the glory for everything in our lives. Without prayer and faith, none of this was possible.

Without getting into too much detail, we were told in the summer of 2013 that my wife, Tiffany, and I couldn’t conceive naturally, but she could carry a pregnancy. After praying on it, we started this journey and began the orientation process with another facility in December of 2014. Due to some financial complications, we decided to put our dream on hold. Tiffany reassured me that it just wasn’t the right time. We figured out a plan for what we needed to do in order to move forward.

Throughout 2015, we researched different facilities and saved, saved, saved all year long! Then our dilemma became – “What if it doesn’t work? What if it doesn’t take? We’ve saved all this money and we have ONE shot. Should we put all the money we saved into adoption?” Again, quite the same as before, we prayed and proceeded on faith it would work.

By the beginning of 2016, we felt like it was time to seriously restart our journey. Tiffany had received an email from a friend who was also seeking help getting pregnant. She had gone to Georgia Reproductive Specialists, now SGF Atlanta, and had incredible things to say about Dr. McCarthy-Keith. We thought, let’s give it a try.

We attended a seminar hosted by Dr. McCarthy-Keith and were so blown away by her temperament and how incredibly positive she was that this process works. My wife and I were so impressed with the facilities and how Dr. McCarthy-Keith broke everything down, we decided to set up an appointment with her. She gave us a list of items we needed to accomplish BEFORE we began treatment. We both had to change some of our dietary habits in order to give my wife the best chance of success.

We started the IVF process in late August of 2016 completely terrified and intimidated, especially with the shots! Was it easy? No! However, it was something we were willing to do to have a child. Throughout our experience, Dr. McCarthy-Keith and her staff were extremely supportive. Rita and Devin in particular were incredible!

On November 11th, 2016, we got a call from Dr. McCarthy-Keith to tell us we were PREGNANT, and I was going to be a father! The joy I had that morning through tears of joy was indescribable. Our beautiful baby boy was born July 6th, 2017 and our world has not been the same since. By far the best day of my life and every day is unforgettable.

Remember, this journey started in July of 2013 and came full circle in July 2017. You WILL go through incredibly tough times and will continue to ask yourself, “is it worth it?” It’s on God’s time. Keep your faith and don’t give up. With this process as personal and emotional as it was, I can’t imagine where we would be without Dr. McCarthy-Keith. We came back to visit her around Christmas of 2017. When I saw her again for the first time, I couldn’t do anything but hug her and cry like a baby. We owe her and her staff everything!
