Q: Why did you become a urologist?
As a medical student at Georgetown on my surgical rotation, I was intrigued by the variety of problems that are treated by urologists and the balance between surgical and medical management of patients. During my residency training at Harvard/Massachusetts General Hospital, I was drawn to the subspecialty of reproductive urology, in particular, because of the team-oriented approach that is used to help couples conceive and I loved the precise, demanding nature of the microsurgical procedures.
