Q: What are your hobbies and why do you enjoy them?

A:

I enjoy playing squash and hiking the local trails of the Potomac. Exercise is a great way to relax and enjoy time with my family.

A:

The desire at every level to recognize and value the contribution of the individual employee toward the shared goal of helping patients achieve a family.

Q: What’s on your bucket list?

A:

The Grand Canyon for a second time.

Q: What is your approach to helping patients who are struggling?

A:

First listen to the individual, then make sure the patient understands how determined we are to help them achieve a family. The shared goal of achieving a successful pregnancy often requires more than one treatment cycle. It is a process that requires skill, mutual trust, and persistence. How you convey the knowledge and treatment plan are just as important as the information.

Reviews

"We can’t recommend Dr. O’Brien more highly. If you want a physician who will clearly explain your treatment options, then you made the right choice. Fertility treatment is very stressful, especially when cycles fail and she will carefully explain the likely causes and the next steps. She remained hopeful even after our first IVF cycle failed and now we are fortunate and grateful to have a son."

"Dr. O’Brien has in-depth professional knowledge and extensive experience in this area. She is also very supportive and has always been kind towards her patients. She is not only a excellent doctor, she is also a good listener. I feel she is also a friend to me through my reproductive journey. I will always recommend her to my friends and family in a heartbeat."

"Dr. O’Brien is one of the most compassionate and committed physicians I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. She and our nurse Shawn Thompson are the reason we look at our daughter each day! They were there every step of the way. We will forever be grateful for her support and guidance. Simply the best!"

"Dr. O'Brien is very well spoken, highly educated, kind, extremely diligent and thorough with all details. She offers a sense of cautious optimism and compassion as this process is not for the faint of heart! Dr. O'Brien takes a hands-on approach with procedures and answers all questions without hesitation and with factual substance. She is prompt at returning calls and initiates phone calls when she sees it necessary. I trusted her 100% with advice during the donor selection process as well."

"Dr. O'Brien provided us excellent comprehensive care during the last 2 years. She never failed to answer our questions and provide honesty about what to expect from fertility treatments. It isn't possible to promise a perfect outcome and she managed our expectations while remaining hopeful about success. We would highly recommend to anyone."

"Dr. O'Brien ih phenomenal. Clinically, a genius and she has a caring compassionate side. She made me feel like I was her only patient in the world. She spent all the time I needed to process what was happening with me and discussed a positive plan of action. She is incredible with her patients and is able to relate on a personal level (a quality not found in many MDs). After a 4 year journey, she gave me my second IVF son, who is due in 3 weeks! She is also responsive and accessible."

"Dr. O'Brien is absolutely wonderful, she keeps me calm through all the procedures. She listens and talks to me when I need my questions answered. She was able to give me my daughter who is now 4, and is working her hardest to give us another child. I can't thank her enough for everything she has done and will do for us."

"Thank you from the bottom of my heart (and my heart-shaped uterus) for making such a beautiful home for 9 months for our little Luca. I had a complication-free pregnancy and enjoyed every moment. After my miscarriage and then preterm birth of my daughter, it was the pregnancy I had prayed for."

"You also allowed me to think that getting pregnant was a possibility. You never sugar-coated the odds or statistics, but you gave me something no other doctor had given me, and that was hope. You weren't making any promises but just knowing that you had hope and were on my side made a world of difference."

"We cannot express how much we appreciate everything you did to help us start our family. Your support, understanding, and caring attitude made they bumpy road bearable. I hope you don't ever see what you do as just employment. You truly are helping people's dreams come true and for that, we are eternally grateful."

"I just wanted to take the time to express truly what a blessing you have been in our lives! Your professionalism, compassion and knowledge have allowed us to obtain our dream! We are so thankful to have come across your facility and will continue to recommend you to anyone who faces the same hardship as ours…you were simply amazing and you made the whole process easy. Please extend our gratitude to your entire staff. They are all angels in our eyes!"

"How can I possibly thank you for all you have done for me. You have given me the greatest gift on earth…my twins! My husband and I tried to get pregnant for over four years. We had gone through IVF at another facility and it failed twice. I was about to give up hope and another one of your patients recommended you. I am so grateful that I decided to come and meet with you. You gave me hope again and told me you thought I was a good candidate for IVF. Dealing with infertility is one of the hardest things I’ve had to go through, but you made the process so much better. Everyone was very kind and encouraging. After all the procedures and injections, you start to feel like a guinea pig but it was all worth it. Our results were so much better at your facility. We decided to put back two embryos and both of them took (to my surprise)! We even had two embryos to freeze and use in the future."
