    About susan strellec, PA-C

    Susan Strellec, MPAS, PA-C, completed her undergraduate studies in Biochemistry at Chatham University. Her senior thesis was a collaborative project that focused on medicinal chemistry and was published in the journal of Molecular Cancer Therapeutics. She started her career in women’s health at an OB/GYN practice in Northern Virginia after graduating with a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Chatham University. Her interests include infertility and preconception counseling, which lead to her role as a physician assistant at Shady Grove Fertility.

    Now at Shady Grove Fertility, Susan collaborates closely with our physicians in the evaluation and management of patients in the Arlington, VA office. She performs ultrasounds, intrauterine inseminations (IUI), and saline sonograms/mock embryo transfers, and reviews labs and genetic screening results and counsels patients.

    Susan maintains Board Certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is a member of the National Academy of Physician Assistants and Physician Assistants for Global Health. She enjoys teaching and is a guest lecturer at the George Washington University Physician Assistant Program covering topics including ovarian disorders, infertility, and obstetrics.

    Q: Why did you choose to work in reproductive medicine?


    Working in reproductive medicine gives me the opportunity to be a part of a team that can help build families and bring joy to peoples’ lives, and I can’t think of a more rewarding career.

    Q: What are your hobbies and why do you enjoy them?


    I like to spend time with my partner and our dog, Charlie. I also enjoy reading and travelling.

    Q: What is something about you that would surprise most people?


    I lived as foreign exchange student in Germany for 1 year as a Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange Scholar through the American Field Service (AFS).
