New physician: Candice O’Hern Perfetto, M.D.

Candice O’Hern Perfetto, M.D., is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN) as well as reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI). Dr. Perfetto received her medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. She then completed her residency in OB/GYN at The George Washington University (GWU) Medical Center.

Dr. Perfetto has been named a “Top Doctor” in REI by both H Texas and Houstonia magazine.

New physician: Janet Bruno-Gaston, M.D., MSCI

Janet Bruno-Gaston, M.D., MSCI, is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and board eligible in reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI). Dr. Bruno-Gaston received her medical degree from Morehouse School of Medicine, where she was recognized as a Community Health Honors Scholar for her work with health care disparities.

New physician: John R. Crochet Jr., M.D.

John R. Crochet, Jr., M.D., is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN) as well as reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI). Dr. Crochet received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. He then completed his residency in OB/GYN at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas where he received commendations for his teaching and was recognized for excellence in laparoscopic and endoscopic surgery and ultrasonography.

New physician: Vicki L. Schnell, M.D.

Vicki L. Schnell, M.D., FACOG, is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN) as well as reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI). She received her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine. It was during this time that Dr. Schnell worked in REI clinical research, exploring the early stages of in vitro fertilization (IVF). She has published abstracts and papers on topics including in vitro fertilization, ovarian stimulation, and endometriosis.

FAQs

We understand the financial considerations that go into the decision to begin — or continue — fertility treatment. As part of our efforts to make treatment more affordable, we participate with a wide network insurance providers. SGF has also developed exclusive financial programs to help ease the cost of treatment, including our Shared Risk 100% Refund Program.

Prior to starting treatment, patients undergo complete diagnostic testing and will talk with one of our fertility specialists to establish a plan forward. If in vitro fertilization (IVF) is determined by your physician to be the right treatment for you, please visit our IVF treatment page for more information.

Female fertility testing includes ultrasounds, hysterosalpingograms (HSGs), ovarian reserve testing and bloodwork to check hormone levels.

Male infertility testing includes a semen analysis. If the results are abnormal, you may undergo additional testing or be referred to a reproductive urologist for a comprehensive evaluation to determine the cause.
