Q & A
Q: Why did you become a doctor/reproductive endocrinologist?
A: I always loved science in school and the opportunity to use science to directly help people was what brought me to the medical field. Being able to help people have children and create families is the most fascinating and rewarding area of medicine to me; I can’t imagine doing anything else.
Q: What are your hobbies and why do you enjoy them?
A: I enjoy cycling and travel as both are opportunities to explore and enjoy the world we live in.
Q: What about SGF makes you the most proud?
A: I am most proud of the respect, honesty, and transparency with which we treat our patients.
Q: Describe a time when you were inspired by a patient.
A: I am inspired by my patients every day in different ways. The journey through fertility treatment can be long and hard for some patients. When I see a patient who has endured multiple failed treatments, pregnancy losses, numerous procedures, blood draws, and shots and is still willing, with a smile on her face, to try anything that might help her have a child, I am inspired.
Q: What is your approach to helping patients who are struggling?
A: I try to educate my patients as much as possible about what their test results mean, what is causing their infertility, and most importantly what their options are for building a family. With fertility treatment there is not always one clear-cut path, but rather a choice of different treatment options with varying success rates, intensity/invasiveness, and cost. I try to talk through these options to help patients choose which one is the best fit for them.
I am most proud of the respect, honesty, and transparency with which we treat our patients.
“Dr. Osborn is wonderful. She is warm and caring, while also being extremely informative. She never rushed us in our consultations, always answered all our (many) questions thoroughly, and was kind and caring throughout this journey. I cannot say enough good things about her!”
“My husband and I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Osborn. Our chances of having a baby on our own were very slim. Dr. Osborn gave us a few options and the time to think about the best way to proceed. She was calm, patient and very hopeful. It was not at all an easy process. She worked very hard to determine and propose ways to increase our chances. We had a miscarriage and two failed attempts but the fourth time was successful! We did not want to give up! She was the one who conducted the last transfer and it worked! We could not believe it. We will never forget what Dr. Osborn did for us! I am in mid-forties and getting pregnant was like a DREAM COME TRUE! We love you Dr. Osborn!”
“Dr. Osborn and her team were extremely kind, accommodating, honest, and supportive. They always made sure that we had all of the information available, and they held our hands through the entire process. I could not have asked for a better doctor! We were overjoyed to welcome our little one into the world! We will be back again to give our little guy a sibling. I would recommend Dr. Osborn to anyone who is struggling to have a baby.”
“A belated thank you for taking such good care of us nearly two years ago. During one of the most challenging, confusing and painful times in our lives, you treated us with such kindness and respect. And for what should have been a complete failure, thank you for making our chance to have our own children possible. Not a day goes by that I am not grateful for your experience. I am the proud and ridiculously happy mother of two girls. They are healthy, happy and quite simply amazing. All of my best to you and your staff at Shady Grove Fertility.”
“Thank you for all your help and support Dr. Osborn on our journey towards a family of 4. We met many professionals and experts; you have stuck out as such a great part of the process and I hope that you continue helping people just like us.”
“Her care and expertise resulted in our beautiful daughter. The statistics she provided me regarding the possibility of pregnancy was on target. The team in her office were always dependable.”
“Not only is Dr. Osborn kind, knowledgeable and provides great care, her demeanor and bedside manner are fantastic. She gave very clear advice and recommendations, however she also gave us choices and let us make decisions where appropriate. We felt genuinely cared for, in all sense of the word. I’d recommend her (and the staff at the Shady Grove Fertility Sibley office) to anyone!”
“My wife and I are a same-sex couple who used Shady Grove Fertility to conceive our daughter through IUI. Throughout a more than year-long process, Dr. Osborn was attentive, thorough, and sensitive to the needs of our family. We recommend her, and her Shady Grove Fertility colleagues, most highly.”
“Dr. Osborn did an amazing job making sure we were comfortable with each step of our fertility journey from start to finish. She was easy to communicate with, kept us informed of our choices and made sure that we understood each step.”
