Q & A
Q: Why did you choose to work in reproductive medicine?
A: Shady Grove was a pivotal career change for me. I had never thought about working in infertility until I had to go through treatment myself. My children and my journey through infertility are some of my greatest accomplishments. I’m proud of this and hope I portray that empathy to the patients I help everyday.
Q: What are your hobbies?
A: I like to do crafts, organize spaces, and play blackjack (or any card or board game!)
Q: What is something about you that would surprise most people?
A: I danced from childhood through college and competed in jazz and lyrical.
“Shana made the IVF process as positive as it possibly could be. She is warm, knowledgeable (a great resource on any question that came to mind!), a procedural trouble-shooter, and I would not trust anyone else with my reproductive health. She followed up with me throughout my pregnancy (long after discharge from Shady Grove to my OB) and childbirth experience. When I returned to Shady Grove with a later spontaneous pregnancy, she brought the same kind clinical manner to my new situation and treated me with the same care and attention. As a patient with PCOS and pregnancy loss, I found exactly the provider I needed in her – she guided me through through the process so skillfully. Any patient would be lucky to work with her.”
