More about Dr. Natalie Stentz
Q: WHY DID YOU BECOME A DOCTOR/REPRODUCTIVE ENDOCRINOLOGIST?
A: Growing up, I always knew that I wanted to become a doctor. When majoring in Women’s Studies in college, I realized how integral the decision to have (or not have) a family is to a person’s life and to their lifelong health. There is no medical specialty that allows you to have as great of a lifelong impact as fertility care. While the path to having a child is not always easy or straightforward, it is an honor to be able to help my patients on this path.
Q: WHO INSPIRES YOU?
A: I am most greatly inspired by those professors, conductors, doctors and entrepreneurs I have worked with throughout my life who live their passion and work daily to improve their craft.
Q: WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES AND WHY DO YOU ENJOY THEM?
A: In my free time I love to garden and go skiing. I love gardening because I can see how gentle care provided over time can flourish into something beautiful. I love skiing because there is no sense of freedom like flying down a hill over a gorgeous landscape.
Q: WHAT ABOUT SGF MAKES YOU THE MOST PROUD?
A: There is no fertility practice in the country that tries as hard as SGF to provide the best care to their patients using every piece of evidence available. I am proud to work with SGF to provide cutting edge evidence based care to our patients.
Q: WHAT’S ON YOUR BUCKET LIST?
A: I want to take my family to travel to the Galapagos, to Antartica, and on safari in Africa
Q: DESCRIBE A TIME WHEN YOU WERE INSPIRED BY A PATIENT.
A: I am inspired by my patients every day. It takes an enormous amount of courage and dedication to come to our office for fertility care, to show up monitoring and frequent appointments, and to put your care in our hands. It is a privilege to be able to work with my patients at such a vulnerable time in their lives.
Q: WHAT IS YOUR APPROACH TO HELPING PATIENTS WHO ARE STRUGGLING?
A: I do my best to meet my patients where they are, and to outline the myriad of paths towards creating the family they desire. Later, while following those somewhat arduous paths, I stand by, holding a hand through the tough parts and sharing in joy of our successes.
Q: HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONALITY?
A: I am easy to talk to, calm, quiet, contemplative and direct.
Q: WHAT IS SOMETHING ABOUT YOU THAT WOULD SURPRISE MOST PEOPLE?
A: If I was not a physician I would play flute in a major orchestra. I have been a competitive musician my entire life.
