Too Late to Conceive? The Truth About Age and Infertility
While there can be many causes of infertility, natural pregnancy rates decrease sharply as a woman ages, especially after the age of 35. It's noteworthy that over 40% of Shady Grove Fertility patients ages 35-40 have gotten pregnant, and 25% of patients over age 40 have conceived using IVF.

Successful Treatments for Couples with Male Infertility
In Vitro Fertilization and improved laboratory fertilization techniques have significantly changed the pregnancy success rates for patients with all diagnoses, especially those with moderate to severe male factor. Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) along with advanced sperm retrieval techniques allow more men to utilize their own sperm to conceive, when only a few years ago, donor sperm may have been their only option.

This medical update describes the rationale for the use of estrogen and/or progesterone supplementation in each of a variety of therapeutic settings following infertility and assisted reproduction. The most commonly used medications and doses are outlined and the regimens for their use and discontinuation are described.

Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis technology can improve the likelihood of a successful pregnancy and birth for two distinctly different groups of patients.
