Become an Egg Donor

Without the generosity and compassion of women like you, many infertile couples will never experience the joy of parenthood. So it is with great appreciation that we acknowledge your interest. Prior to completing the physical process of donating eggs, potential donors undergo both medical and psychological screening. The entire process may span several weeks and therefore egg donors are compensated for their time and effort. Read more about why donors donate.

Donor Qualifications

  • between the age of 21-31
  • good general health
  • within normal weight range, a BMI of 18-28
  • non-smoker
  • minimum of a high school graduate (GED's not accepted)
  • residing in the Washington, DC / Baltimore metropolitan areas (MD, VA, DC, DE, PA, WV - residing within 100 miles of our Rockville, MD office)

Donor Compensation

The donation process has several steps all of which require your time. At Shady Grove Fertility potential donors receive compensation after each stage.

Donor Application completed in full and baseline hormone levels and ultrasound done $50
Pre-screening completed and accepted into the program as an Egg Donor $450
Completed egg donation cycle* $5,500 (in addition to $500 received previously)
Medical pre-screening completed, however you are not accepted into the program as an Egg Donor $200
Refer a Friend** $250 for each friend you refer that completes an egg donation

*Unlike agency donors, our donors are typically matched immediately upon acceptance and the fee is paid out within a few months.
**Refer a Friend fee is paid only once the donor referred undergoes her egg retrieval.

Donors who meet the donation screening standards will receive $6,000 upon completion of cycle. Repeat donors receive $6,500 upon completion of each additional cycle. No out-of-pocket costs are charged to the egg donor.

Egg donors receive an IRS 1099 for the end of the year.

Refer A Friend

Our best egg donors come to us through word of mouth referrals from our current egg donors. Refer a friend and receive a $250 referral fee upon the completion of her donation cycle.
